Chief Minister Concludes 7th District Commissioners Conference in Guwahati
Guwahati, July 31, 2024: After over 24 hours of deliberations, Chief Minister Dr Himanta Biswa Sarma has concluded the two-day long, 7th District Commissioners Conference in Guwahati. The gathering, which saw extensive discussions on various issues, has yielded several significant suggestions and decisions aimed at furthering the state’s development.
The conference led to the adoption of three broad decisions:
1. Whole-of-Government Approach: Emphasis was placed on accelerating the growth momentum achieved over the last three years through a unified approach by all government sectors.
2. Citizen-Centric Administration: Departments and district administrations were urged to continue adopting a humane and citizen-centric approach, ensuring that governance remains responsive and inclusive.
3. Synergy of Schemes: There was a strong resolution to synergize central and state schemes to ensure the saturation of developmental benefits across all regions.
The two-day conference, chaired by Chief Minister Dr Sarma, saw Team Assam engage in extensive discussions covering a range of topics from agriculture and industry to health and infrastructure. The meeting concluded with a firm resolve to establish districts as the ‘Fulcrum of Administration,’ thereby bolstering the mission of an Atmanirbhar (self-reliant) and Viksit (developed) Assam.
These resolutions underscore the state’s commitment to holistic and inclusive development, setting a robust foundation for future growth and progress.
