NEET PG 2024 Exam Successfully Conducted Across 170 Cities Amid Heightened Security Measures
Desk Report, August 12, 2024: The National Board of Examinations in Medical Sciences (NBEMS) successfully conducted the NEET PG 2024 examination yesterday across 170 cities in India. The high-stakes exam was held in two shifts at 416 centers, with enhanced security measures in place to ensure a safe and smooth process.
NBEMS, an autonomous body under the Ministry of Health & Family Welfare, issued admit cards to 2,28,540 candidates. In an effort to minimize travel challenges, candidates were assigned examination centers within their respective states wherever feasible.
To oversee the examination, a central command center was established at the NBEMS headquarters in Dwarka, Delhi. This center was staffed by officials from the Union Health Ministry, NBEMS Governing Body, and Executive Director NBEMS, all of whom closely monitored the proceedings. Additionally, more than 1,950 independent appraisers and 300 flying squad members were deployed across the country to ensure compliance with exam protocols. Eight regional command centers were also set up to supervise the examination at a regional level.
In response to the growing challenge of misinformation, NBEMS closely monitored social media platforms to ensure that only verified information was circulated to stakeholders. The coordinated efforts of multiple agencies and the implementation of heightened security measures were pivotal in maintaining the integrity of the NEET PG 2024 examination.
