Assam STF Seizes Fake Gold in Maligaon Operation; Two Arrested
Guwahati, August 13, 2024: In a decisive operation, the Special Task Force (STF) of Assam apprehended two individuals in Maligaon, under the jurisdiction of Jalukbari Police Station, Guwahati. The operation, based on reliable intelligence, led to the seizure of a boat-shaped fake gold item weighing 1.36 kg.
Along with the counterfeit gold, the STF team recovered a significant amount of cash and other undisclosed articles. The identities of the arrested individuals have not been revealed, but they are currently under investigation for their involvement in the illegal trade.
This operation is part of a broader effort by the Assam Police to crack down on illicit activities in the state. The STF’s swift action reflects their commitment to maintaining law and order and curbing the circulation of counterfeit goods in the region.
