Guwahati Police Arrests Extortionist for ₹15 Lakh Threat with Dummy Bomb
Guwahati, August 19, 2024: In a significant breakthrough, a team from the Jalukbari Police Station has apprehended Abhijit Dey, 22, of Krishnai, on charges of extortion. The accused had allegedly threatened a victim in Pandav Nagar with a dummy bomb and an extortion letter, demanding ₹15 lakh. The incident sparked immediate concern, prompting swift police action.
The arrest was made following a meticulous inquiry led by Sub-Inspector (P) Chitranjan Borah, who thoroughly investigated the case. The investigative efforts culminated in Dey’s apprehension, bringing a sense of relief to the affected community.
