Jaipur Foot Camp 2024 Provides Assistive Devices to 1,394 Beneficiaries in Tezpur
Desk Report, August 20, 2024: The Jaipur Foot Camp 2024, held in Tezpur as part of the 3rd District Day Celebrations, significantly impacted lives in its second year. Organized by the Sonitpur District Administration, along with support from social organizations, the camp assisted 1,394 beneficiaries—nearly triple the number from last year.
The camp’s reach included a diverse group, with 489 females and 905 males benefiting. Among them, 382 were children with special needs (CWSN), comprising 150 girls and 232 boys. Additionally, 1,012 adults over 18 years old received support.
One of the youngest beneficiaries, a 2-year-old, received an assistive device, highlighting the camp’s dedication to inclusive care. On the other end of the spectrum, the oldest beneficiary, at 89 years old, was provided with both a wheelchair and hearing aids, ensuring comfort in her daily life.
The distribution of assistive devices was extensive. The camp provided 307 wheelchairs, 100 tricycles, and 460 hearing aids, along with 88 crutches and 54 walkers. Further, 65 blind sticks, 35 artificial limbs, 248 callipers, and 9 modified shoes were distributed, ensuring a comprehensive range of support for various needs.
The Jaipur Foot Camp 2024’s success in Sonitpur District not only empowered individuals but also underscored the importance of continued community support and administration-driven initiatives.
