Assam CM Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma Highlights Role of Thana Nagarik Samitis in Boosting Law and Order
Guwahati, September 07, 2024: Chief Minister Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma attended the Conference of Thana Nagarik Samitis today in Guwahati, underlining its significance. He emphasized how crucial the collaboration between the police and the public is to improving law and order. According to him, this partnership will make police operations more transparent and effective.
Dr. Sarma further noted that the conference was a major step toward promoting peace and development across Assam. The initiative aims to ensure that communities work closely with local authorities to establish safer and more peaceful environments.
He also highlighted that Thana Nagarik Samitis have already been successfully formed in 307 police stations. This initiative is expected to bolster the relationship between law enforcement and citizens, speeding up Assam’s development while maintaining transparency.
