Manipur Police, Assam Rifles Seize Weapons and Ammunition in Churachandpur Operation
In a significant joint operation, Manipur Police and Assam Rifles successfully recovered several firearms and explosives from Khengmol Hill in Churachandpur district, Manipur. The operation aimed at tackling illegal arms smuggling in the region led to the discovery of various dangerous weapons.
During the search, security forces seized one tear gas gun, one country-made 9 mm pistol with a magazine, and five single-barrel 12-bore guns. Additionally, they found eight live rounds of ammunition, 13 improvised mortar shells, and five heavy improvised mortars.
The operation highlights the ongoing efforts by law enforcement agencies to curb illegal activities in Manipur’s conflict-prone areas. Security forces continue to remain vigilant, and more such operations are expected to be conducted to maintain peace and order.
