Two Criminals Arrested for Smuggling Cattle Along India-Bangladesh Border in Golakganj
Agomani: In a major crackdown on cattle smuggling, two criminals were arrested along the India-Bangladesh border in Golakganj. The duo, identified as Janif Hoque and Alam Hoque, had long been involved in supplying cattle across the border. During a recent raid in the Nalia area, authorities apprehended the two men and recovered five cows.
Officials have confirmed that both Janif and Alam were wanted for their involvement in a well-organized smuggling network. Their arrest is seen as a significant step in curbing illegal cattle trade, which has been rampant in the region.
The operation was conducted by Nalia Police stationed at the border, following intelligence reports of suspicious activity in the area. Upon their arrest, the authorities seized the cows, which were being prepared for illegal transportation into Bangladesh.
Smuggling has long been a challenge along the India-Bangladesh border, and this latest action is part of ongoing efforts to combat the illicit trade. Both accused are in custody and will face legal proceedings soon.
