Illegal Bangladeshi National Caught by Assam Police During Border Operation

Assam Police today apprehended an illegal Bangladeshi national near the international border, maintaining its strict vigilance. The individual, identified as Istaq Ahmed, was caught during routine security checks along the border. This incident highlights the ongoing efforts to secure the state’s borders and prevent illegal entry.

Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma lauded Assam Police for their dedication. In a post on ‘X’ (formerly Twitter), Sarma praised the force, stating, “Over 100 illegal Bangladeshis have been arrested so far. Good job, Team!” His commendation underscores the state’s focus on ensuring border security and tackling illegal immigration.

The arrest is part of Assam’s broader mission to curb illegal immigration, a critical issue impacting the state. Border security forces have ramped up their operations, resulting in a significant number of arrests in recent months.
