N Chandrasekaran, chairman of Tata Sons, expressed deep grief over the loss. In a heartfelt statement, he said, “It is with a profound sense of loss that we bid farewell to Mr. Ratan Naval Tata. His contributions have shaped not only Tata Group but the very fabric of our nation.”
Ratan Tata led Tata Group as chairman from 1991 to 2012. Under his leadership, the group acquired prestigious global brands like Jaguar Land Rover, Corus Steel, and Tetley Tea. These acquisitions positioned Tata Group prominently on the world stage, elevating its international status.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi also mourned Tata’s passing. He tweeted through ‘X,’ stating, “Shri Ratan Tata Ji was a visionary business leader, a compassionate soul, and an extraordinary human being. He provided stable leadership to one of India’s oldest and most prestigious business houses. His contributions went beyond the boardroom, as his humility and kindness touched countless lives. His unwavering commitment to improving society endeared him to many.”
