STF Arrests Three in Dispur Raid, Seizes Fake Currency and White Papers
Guwahati: In a significant breakthrough, the Assam Special Task Force (STF) made key arrests in an ongoing investigation into fake Indian currency notes (FICN). Acting on intelligence, the STF team conducted a targeted raid at Bormotoria, under the jurisdiction of Dispur Police Station in Guwahati city.
During the operation, STF authorities seized a variety of items, including an Innova Crysta (bearing registration number AS 01 FR 2909), fake currency amounting to ₹14,000, a bundle of white papers often used for printing counterfeit notes, and six mobile phones. Other related items were also recovered during the search.
Three individuals were apprehended at the scene in connection with the illegal activities. The suspects are currently being questioned to uncover further details about the operation and their network. The investigation remains ongoing, and additional arrests are expected as the STF delves deeper into this case.
This raid marks a crucial step in curbing the circulation of fake currency in Assam, highlighting the effectiveness of coordinated police action.
