Massive Drug Bust in Karbi Anglong: ₹8 Crore Heroin Recovered, Two Arrested
Based on credible intelligence, Karbi Anglong Police made a significant drug bust at Lahorijan Naka. A truck originating from Manipur was intercepted, leading to the discovery of 1,140.58 grams of heroin with an estimated value of ₹8 crore in the illicit market.
The operation resulted in the apprehension of two individuals connected to the smuggling attempt. The suspects, identified as Rashidul Islam and Noor Alam, were taken into custody for further investigation. Authorities believe the seized narcotics were destined for high-demand locations, underscoring the ongoing drug trafficking challenges in the region.
This successful interception is part of a broader effort by law enforcement in Karbi Anglong to curb the flow of illegal drugs entering the area from neighboring states.
