Assam Vigilance Directorate Catches ASI Accepting Bribe at Hailakandi
The Directorate of Vigilance and Anti-Corruption in Assam apprehended Assistant Sub-Inspector (ASI) Khurshed Ali from Abdullapur Patrol Post, Hailakandi district, on bribery charges. Ali was caught red-handed shortly after he accepted a bribe from a complainant near the patrol post.
According to officials, the complainant had approached the Vigilance Directorate after Ali allegedly demanded money in exchange for favorable treatment in an ongoing case. Acting swiftly, the Directorate set up a trap near the Abdullapur Patrol Post, under the jurisdiction of Lala Police Station.
Once Ali accepted the bribe, the Vigilance team immediately intervened and detained him on the spot. The incident has sparked discussions on the importance of transparency and accountability within Assam’s law enforcement system.
This arrest highlights the Assam government’s commitment to rooting out corruption at all levels. Vigilance authorities have reaffirmed their dedication to investigating such cases and ensuring that justice is served without bias.
