Assam CM Inaugurates Modern Command Center and Historic Monolith Pillar at State Assembly
Guwahati: In a landmark event, Assam Chief Minister Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma inaugurated a state-of-the-art Command and Control Center at the Assam Legislative Assembly premises today. The launch marks a significant step toward modernizing the Assembly’s infrastructure while preserving the state’s rich heritage.
The new Command and Control Center includes advanced facilities like operational hubs, CCTV surveillance, Wi-Fi hotspots, digital displays, and public address systems. These features aim to improve overall efficiency and ensure seamless operations at the Assembly. Alongside, the CM also introduced smart poles and digital corridors, signaling a push for tech-driven enhancements in the state.
In a nod to Assam’s historical legacy, Dr. Sarma and Speaker Biswajit Daimary unveiled a sandstone monolith pillar at the Assembly’s entrance. This monolith is a tribute to the craftsmanship and heritage of the Kachari kingdom. Known for their iconic sandstone monoliths, the Kachari dynasty’s architectural symbols stand as enduring testaments to their ancient legacy.
During the inauguration, Dr. Sarma highlighted the dual importance of innovation and heritage. He expressed confidence that these initiatives would significantly boost operational progress and uphold the cultural pride of the state.
The newly installed monolith not only beautifies the Assembly premises but also serves as a reminder of the enduring contributions of Assam’s indigenous communities to its cultural fabric. The integration of modern technology and traditional artistry reflects a harmonious vision for Assam’s future.
