Lance Naik in Sribhumi Town Nabbed by Assam Vigilance for Accepting Bribe
In a significant anti-corruption operation, the Directorate of Vigilance & Anti-Corruption, Assam, apprehended Lance Naik Sapan Das on bribery charges. The arrest occurred today at Sribhumi Sadar Police Station, located in Sribhumi town, previously known as Karimganj.
Das was caught red-handed while accepting a bribe from a complainant. The money was allegedly linked to the execution of a pending warrant. The complainant had approached authorities, leading to the swift action by the vigilance team.
Officials ensured transparency and maintained all necessary protocols during the operation. They confirmed that the money exchanged hands moments before Das was apprehended.
