STF Assam Seizes ₹2.99 Lakh in Fake Currency Notes During Khanapara Operation
Guwahati: The Assam Special Task Force (STF) conducted a significant operation targeting counterfeit currency in Guwahati’s Khanapara area. The action was part of an ongoing investigation under the STF Police Station case.
During the operation near Khanapara under the jurisdiction of Dispur Police Station, the team detained a suspect. They also seized fake Indian currency notes (FICN) amounting to ₹2,99,500. Along with the counterfeit money, a mobile phone and other items were recovered.
Authorities have intensified their crackdown on fake currency rackets in the region. The arrested individual is being questioned to uncover further links to the network.
This operation highlights the STF’s commitment to curbing the circulation of fake notes, which severely impacts the economy. Further investigations are underway to track others involved in the illegal activity.
