Assam Government’s ‘12 Days of Development’ Programme Empowers Kamrup with Relief and Financial Assistance
Guwahati: Under the Assam Government’s ambitious ‘12 Days of Development’ initiative, a programme was held yesterday at the Integrated District Office premises in Amingaon, Kamrup. The event witnessed the presence of several key dignitaries, including Chandra Mohan Patowary, Minister of Environment and Forest, and Guardian Minister of Kamrup. Other prominent attendees were Bhabesh Kalita, MLA, Rangia; Diganta Kalita, MLA, Kamalpur; Suman Haripriya, MLA, Hajo; Deba Kumar Mishra, Deputy Commissioner of Kamrup; and Hemanta Choudhury, Officer on Special Duty to the Chief Minister.
The programme provided much-needed financial relief and assistance to the people of Kamrup across various sectors. A total of 2,133 borrowers under the Assam Microfinance Incentive and Relief Scheme were handed over ‘No Dues Certificates,’ providing them a fresh start in managing their finances. This initiative is a step forward in the government’s commitment to alleviating the financial burdens of microfinance borrowers.
Additionally, 395 beneficiaries received seed capital and sanction letters under the Pradhan Mantri Formalisation of Micro Food Processing Enterprises (PMFME) Scheme, enabling small-scale entrepreneurs to formalize and expand their operations.
In a humanitarian gesture, four families affected by natural disasters were provided with financial assistance during the event, bringing much-needed relief and support to those in need.
The ‘12 Days of Development’ initiative is part of the Assam Government’s broader mission to deliver governance to the grassroots and empower communities through targeted schemes. Addressing the gathering, Chandra Mohan Patowary emphasized the government’s dedication to fostering growth and ensuring the well-being of the people of Assam.
The programme concluded with a pledge by the district administration and public representatives to continue working toward the holistic development of Kamrup and its residents.
