Assam Cabinet Approves Landmark Decisions on Land Settlement, Judicial Township, and Rural Roads
Guwahati: The Assam Cabinet, in its latest meeting on December 19, approved several pivotal initiatives aimed at fostering development and improving connectivity across the state. The decisions include simplifying land settlement processes, establishing a judicial township, and enhancing rural road infrastructure.
In a significant move, the Cabinet approved new guidelines for land allotment under Mission Basundhara 3.0. Applications from entities like educational, religious, and cultural institutions will no longer require mandatory evidence, such as trust deeds or registration certificates, for submission. However, applicants must register as non-individual juridical entities before receiving allotment offers.
To bolster the judiciary’s infrastructure, the Cabinet has sanctioned the acquisition of Patta land for a state-of-the-art Judicial Township at Rangmahal, North Guwahati. The facility will feature comprehensive judicial infrastructure, residential quarters, and modern amenities, ensuring better accommodation and safety for judicial staff.
In another development, the Cabinet approved the construction of 14 rural road projects across six districts, with an investment of ₹81 crore. These projects aim to boost rural connectivity and support economic activities in underserved areas.
The Cabinet’s decisions reflect a strong focus on improving governance, judicial systems, and connectivity in Assam. These initiatives promise to contribute significantly to the state’s development and ease of living.
