Drugs Worth ₹45 Crore Seized in Sribhumi Anti-Narcotics Operation
In a major breakthrough against drug trafficking, Sribhumi Police intercepted a truck carrying illegal substances worth ₹45 crore. The anti-narcotics operation was conducted in the Hathikhira area, targeting a vehicle with registration number NL 01 AD 1696, which was traveling from a neighboring state.
Upon inspection, the authorities recovered 1.5 lakh YABA tablets weighing over 16 kilograms. The confiscated drugs, often referred to as “madness pills,” have a street value of approximately ₹45 crore. One person has been arrested in connection with the case, and further investigations are underway to uncover the larger network behind the smuggling.
Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma lauded the efforts of the Sribhumi Police. Taking to his social media platform ‘X,’ he stated, “Good job Assam Police! Let us continue to break the nexus of drugs in the State. #AssamAgainstDrugs.”
This operation highlights the Assam Police’s commitment to curbing the illegal drug trade. With increasing vigilance and coordinated efforts, the fight against narcotics in the region has gained momentum.
