Assam STF Seizes Heroin and Stolen Items in Major Raids; Two Arrested
Guwahati: Acting on a tip-off, the Special Task Force (STF) of Assam conducted two raids in the Basistha area. The raids took place at 14th Mile and Tamulikuchi under Basistha Police Station, leading to significant recoveries and arrests.
During the operation, officers apprehended two individuals. They recovered 27.73 grams of heroin, stored in 21 vials. Additionally, 14 stolen mobile phones, cash amounting to ₹22,775, 10 empty vials, 21 syringes, and one mobile handset were seized.
Authorities suspect the duo is linked to a larger drug and theft network. The confiscated heroin and other items point to organized illegal activities in the region.
The STF’s swift action highlights its ongoing commitment to curbing narcotics and crime in Assam. Investigations are underway to identify others involved in the network.
