Assam STF Seizes Heroin Worth ₹9 Crore, Arrests Four Traffickers in Amingaon
Guwahati: A Special Task Force (STF) team in Assam carried out a significant drug bust early this morning. The operation, led by Kalyan Kumar Pathak, Additional Superintendent of Police (STF), resulted in the interception of a Scorpio vehicle in Amingaon, Kamrup district. Upon inspection, the team discovered 1 kg 128 grams of heroin cleverly concealed in secret chambers within the vehicle.
The seized heroin has an estimated market value of ₹9 crore. Authorities apprehended four individuals involved in the trafficking network. The identities of the suspects have not been disclosed yet, as investigations continue to uncover further details.
Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma lauded the STF’s efforts in combating drug trafficking. Taking to his social media platform ‘X’ (formerly Twitter), he commended the team’s dedication and wrote, “Spoiling your drugs party – today, tomorrow, everyday 🚨 Good job Assam Police.”
This successful operation highlights Assam Police’s unwavering commitment to eradicating the drug menace in the state. Over recent months, intensified anti-narcotics drives have led to the recovery of large consignments and the arrest of numerous traffickers, signaling a no-tolerance approach toward the drug trade.

As dawn broke, sleuths of @STFAssam intercepted a vehicle in Amingaon and on thorough search recovered 1.128kg heroin valued at ₹9cr.
