Guwahati Police Busts FICN Racket, Seizes Counterfeit Notes Worth ₹3 Lakh
Guwahati: In a major breakthrough, a Guwahati Police team from Gorchuk Police Station dismantled a fake Indian currency notes (FICN) racket in Lalungaon, Guwahati. The operation led to the seizure of 600 counterfeit ₹500 notes, amounting to a face value of ₹3 lakh.
The police arrested two individuals during the raid. The accused have been identified as Rejaul Islam, aged 24, and Rajibul Islam, aged 33. Both were taken into custody for their involvement in the illegal operation.
Authorities are probing the origins of the counterfeit currency and suspect a broader network behind this operation. With such proactive measures, the police aim to curb illegal activities and safeguard the region’s economic integrity.
