Assam CM Reviews Key Infrastructure Projects, Focuses on Road Development

Guwahati; February 02, 2025: Assam Chief Minister Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma led a crucial review meeting with engineers from the Public Works (Roads) Department. The session focused on assessing major infrastructure projects, including flyovers, bridges, and economic corridors.

During the meeting, officials discussed the progress of key projects under the MPNA, RIDF, and SOPD schemes. The CM emphasized the need for swift execution and high-quality standards. One of the primary discussions was the development of the elevated corridor from Guwahati Club to Noonmati, which aims to ease traffic congestion in the city.

Dr. Sarma also directed officials to enhance the Asom Mala project, ensuring its roads serve as economic corridors. These improved roads will boost socio-economic growth by enhancing connectivity across the state.

The government remains committed to strengthening Assam’s infrastructure for better transportation and economic development. Authorities have been asked to expedite work on all ongoing projects to ensure timely completion.
