Cachar Police Crack Down on Drug Smuggling, Seize ₹2.2 Crore Heroin
March 01, 2025: In a major anti-narcotics operation, Cachar Police seized heroin worth ₹2.2 crore and arrested two individuals. The bust took place at Silcoorie Road, Sildubi, under Silchar Police Station’s jurisdiction.
Based on intelligence inputs, officers intercepted a suspicious vehicle. Upon searching, they found 415 grams of heroin and ₹2 lakh in cash. The police apprehended two individuals linked to the smuggling.
Authorities have launched an investigation to track down other individuals involved. This operation highlights the continued efforts of Assam Police to curb drug trafficking in the region.
