Guwahati Police Raid Illegal Liquor Warehouse in Sonapur, Seize Large Stock
Guwahati; March 06, 2025: A police team from Sonapur Police Station raided an illegal liquor warehouse at Kalangpar village. The operation led to the discovery of a large stock of alcohol hidden inside a residence.
The house, owned by Basindra Barman, had been turned into an underground storage facility for liquor. Acting on a tip-off, police raided the premises and seized a substantial quantity of alcohol. The seized stock included 37 cartons of 650ml beer bottles, 4 cartons of 500ml beer cans, and 16 cartons of whiskey.
Officials stated that the operation was part of their ongoing efforts to curb illegal liquor trade in the region. Police are investigating further and may take legal action against those involved.
