Cachar Police Arrest Two with Suspected Heroin in Anti-Drug Operation
March 15, 2025: In a major crackdown on drug trafficking, Cachar Police arrested two individuals at Nagdirgram-III, Cachar district. The operation was carried out based on a tip-off, leading to the apprehension of Ashik Uddin Laskar and Jahir Laskar.
During the search, police recovered four soap cases containing 51.2 grams of suspected heroin from their possession. The authorities immediately took them into custody for further interrogation.
Cachar Police officials have launched an in-depth investigation to trace the supply chain and identify others involved in the illegal trade. The latest arrest highlights the ongoing efforts of Assam Police in curbing drug-related activities in the region.
