Desk Report, February 03, 2024: Guwahati witnessed an early and spirited welcome for Prime Minister Narendra Modi as he touched down at Lokapriya Gopinath Bordoloi Airport. The Prime Minister’s aircraft landed ahead of schedule, where he was warmly received by Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma and Governor Gulab Chand Kataria, among other dignitaries. The airport premises were adorned with a vibrant display of dancers, adding to the festive atmosphere that greeted the Prime Minister on his visit to the state.
Notably, PM Modi’s arrival occurred earlier than anticipated, as he was initially scheduled to land in Guwahati around 7:30 pm. Following his arrival, Prime Minister Modi proceeded directly to the State Guest House at Koinadhora, where he is expected to engage in discussions with Assam’s BJP leaders.
The highlight of the visit is set for tomorrow at Khanapara, where, starting at approximately 11:30 am, PM Modi will lay the foundation stones for projects totaling over Rs 11,000 crore. This marks a significant step towards bolstering Assam’s infrastructure and fostering developmental initiatives in the region. The two-day visit is anticipated to witness key announcements and engagements that will contribute to the state’s progress under the leadership of Prime Minister Modi and the BJP.
