Desk Report, February 04, 2024: Veteran BJP leader Lal Krishna Advani graciously accepted the prestigious Bharat Ratna, emphasizing that it symbolizes recognition not just for him as an individual but for the ideals and principles to which he dedicated his entire life. Prime Minister Narendra Modi declared on February 3 that Advani would receive India’s highest civilian award, prompting heartfelt gratitude from the 7th Deputy Prime Minister of India.
Advani expressed his thanks to President Droupadi Murmu and Prime Minister Narendra Modi for acknowledging his contributions, recognizing the Bharat Ratna as an honor not only for himself but also for the principles he served throughout his life. In his own words, “It is not only an honor for me as a person, but also for the ideals and principles that I strove to serve throughout my life to the best of my ability.”
The veteran leader extended deep appreciation to his family, especially his departed wife Kamla, for their unwavering support. Reflecting on his journey from volunteering for the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) at the age of 14, Advani highlighted his commitment to dedicated and selfless service for the betterment of his beloved country.

Lal Krishna Advani, a co-founder of the BJP and a distinguished member of the RSS, served as the longest-serving Minister of Home Affairs and the Leader of the Opposition in the Lok Sabha. His acceptance of the Bharat Ratna reflects a lifetime dedicated to the service and betterment of his beloved country.
