Agomani, February 21, 2024: In a swift and decisive operation, Golakganj Police thwarted an attempted child marriage at Borcharaikhola, Golokganj. The daring raid, led by Officer-in-Charge Debojit Kalita, took place under the cover of midnight darkness.
Ainul Hoque, a father of two from Bisondoi, Golokganj, found himself detained along with the prospective groom, Qazi Sahabuddin Mir, and the parents of both bride and groom. The startling revelation emerged that Ainul Hoque was en route to marrying an underage girl, the daughter of Saber Ali Sarkar.

The Golokganj Police received intelligence about this clandestine child marriage plot and quickly acted on it. The raid successfully apprehended the groom, Qazi Sahabuddin Mir, as well as accomplices Rofiq Sarkar, Nazrul Sheikh, and Dhan Uddin Sheikh, who were present at the scene.
During the operation, the minor bride was rescued and taken to Gauripur for her safety. Shockingly, reports unveiled a disturbing detail — this was not the first time the minor bride had been forced into marriage. She had previously endured a marriage at the tender age of 13.
