Dhubri, February 21, 2024: In a major breakthrough, Gauripur police successfully intercepted a truck laden with a substantial quantity of Burmese Areca Nut, cleverly concealed beneath a cargo of vegetables. The operation unfolded as officers conducted a thorough search, unearthing sacks brimming with the illicit cargo.
The detained truck, bearing the registration number AS 01 LC 6082, was bound for West Bengal from Bilasipara. The vigilant Gauripur police apprehended the driver, Mojibur Rahman, and his assistant, Taijuddin Kha, both residents of Goraimari in the Chirang district.

A whopping 40 Quintal of Burmese supari, valued at lakhs in the market, was seized during the operation at Khaskhamar on National Highway 17. The authorities swiftly brought the driver and handyman to the police station for further interrogation, aiming to gather crucial information related to the illicit trade.
