Bilasipara, February 24, 2024: In a decisive move against drug trafficking, Assam Police in Bilasipara have made a significant breakthrough with the arrest of Aktarul Islam, a suspected kingpin in the illegal drug trade. Following a meticulous operation, the police seized 115 grams of banned heroin from a property in ward number 9 of the town. Aktarul Islam, believed to be deeply entrenched in the narcotics underworld, was apprehended as part of a targeted effort to dismantle criminal networks operating in the region.
The raid extended beyond Bilasipara, reaching into Rani Pukhuri village of Udalguri district, where Aktarul Islam’s residence was located. Inside the rented house, authorities uncovered a cache of illicit substances, along with a staggering haul of 100 containers and multiple mobile phones, suspected to be integral to the drug trafficking network’s operations. This significant seizure underscores the gravity of Aktarul Islam’s alleged involvement in the illicit drug trade, prompting heightened scrutiny from law enforcement agencies.
