Morigaon, February 28, 2024: In a pivotal legal development, the Morigaon Additional Sessions Judge cum Special Judge (POCSO) has pronounced sentences, with one individual receiving life imprisonment and another facing 20 years behind bars.
Khajal Uddin, implicated in Laharighat police station case No.400/2021, has been found guilty and sentenced to 20 years of rigorous imprisonment under sections 376AB, 307, and 506 of the Indian Penal Code. This verdict is in conjunction with Section 6, 8, and 10 of the POCSO Act.

Simultaneously, Hasmot Ali, a defendant in Laharighat Police Station Case No.400/2020, has been handed a life sentence under section 376AB of the Indian Penal Code, aligned with Section 4 of the POCSO Act.
