Major Drug Bust in Chagolia Leads to Seizure of 203.75 Kilograms of Cannabis
Agamoni, February 29, 2024: In a significant development this morning, Chagolia Police conducted a successful operation resulting in the seizure of a substantial quantity of cannabis (marijuana) in Chagolia, Dhubri District. The operation also led to the seizure of two vehicles, a Tata Nexon and a Maruti Baleno, identified by their registration numbers as TR 05 F 0772 and TR 01 BH 0787, respectively.
A staggering 203.75 kilograms of cannabis, divided into 46 packets, was recovered from the possession of the alleged peddlers. Additionally, two individuals, identified as Bijoy Das and Raj Kumar Sarkar, were apprehended by the police during the operation. Both individuals are reported to be residents of Tripura.

Preliminary investigations conducted by the police indicate that the two vehicles were en route from Agartala, Tripura, to Siliguri, West Bengal. The operation, led by Chagolia Police Out Post In-Charge Hirak Jyoti Nath, highlights the concerted efforts of Assam Police to combat drug trafficking activities in the region.
