Fatal Hit-and-Run Incident Rocks Boko Sakhati: Biker Killed, Passenger Injured

Boko, March 16, 2024: Another distressing hit-and-run incident has shaken the state, claiming the life of a motorcyclist who was fatally struck by a speeding Ultra bus at Boko Sakhati. The unfortunate event unfolded near a petrol pump along National Highway 17, with the bus fleeing the scene immediately after the collision.

Tragically, the victim identified as Kirip Das from Dhupdhara succumbed to his injuries, while a bus passenger named Mominur Hoque sustained severe injuries and has been rushed to Gauhati Medical College and Hospital for urgent medical attention.

Efforts to apprehend the culprit responsible for this tragic incident are underway, with authorities seizing the bus involved in the accident from Rajapara in Kamrup District. However, the driver remains at large, evading authorities.

The bus, bearing registration number AS 17 C 0939, collided with Das’s motorcycle, registered under the number AS 17 H 6613, resulting in the fatal outcome. As investigations continue, the community mourns the loss of yet another life to reckless driving and calls for swift justice to be served.
