Operation at Assam Mizoram Border Leads to Arrest and Seizure
Silchar, March 24, 2024: In a significant development today, a clandestine operation unfolded at the Assam-Mizoram border, specifically in the Karkat Bosti area under the jurisdiction of the Dholai Police Station. Acting on confidential intelligence, law enforcement officials swiftly moved in, resulting in the apprehension of one individual identified as Ramfanglien Hmar, aged 55, son of the late Thangvung Hmar. Hailing from Lower Lobonkhal village, PS-Jirighat, District-Cachar, Hmar was intercepted by authorities during the operation.
Upon his arrest, law enforcement personnel made a startling discovery. In the possession of Ramfanglien Hmar were 22 plastic soap cases suspected to contain brown sugar, a highly potent and illicit substance. Subsequent to the confiscation, the recovered items, weighing approximately 270 grams, were meticulously secured in adherence to procedural protocols, all under the vigilant oversight of independent witnesses.
