Massive Drug Seizure in Kathiatoli, Nagaon Leads to Arrest
Kachua, April 03, 2024: In a significant operation conducted on Tuesday night, a substantial quantity of drugs was seized from National Highway 36 in Kathiatoli. The operation was executed with the collaborative efforts of Kathiatoli police and the Special Branch of Nagaon Police.
A notable breakthrough in the operation was the arrest of a drug smuggler in possession of the illicit substances. The authorities managed to apprehend the trafficker and seize 46 boxes of drug-laden soaps from the stranded drug peddlers. These boxes contained a total of 576 grams of heroin.
The drugs were being transported in an Ultra bus with the registration number AS 12 AG 2852.
The arrested smuggler has been identified as Mainul Islam, a resident of Nagaon. He is currently in the custody of Kathiatoli police, and legal proceedings against him are underway.
