Mysterious Cash Seized After Meghalaya Chief Minister’s Convoy in Longding
Desk Report, April 05, 2024: In the verdant landscapes of Arunachal Pradesh, the Longding Police, in a collaborative effort with the Forward Surveillance Team (FST), Static Surveillance Team (SST), and local officers, uncovered a startling discovery. A sum of ₹1 Cr was seized from a car that trailed the convoy of Meghalaya Chief Minister Conrad Sangma in Kanubari, Longding district, on April 04.
The Meghalaya Chief Minister had embarked on a four-day journey to explore various locales in Arunachal Pradesh, including Longding, Tezu, Basar, and more. His presence in the region added a layer of intrigue to the unfolding events.
According to Superintendent of Police, Longding, Dekio Gumja, the substantial amount was discovered during a routine inspection at the Kanubari check post around 3:30 pm on April 04. The cash was concealed within a vehicle bearing the registration number AS 01 ET 5252. Gumja further added that the police remain uncertain about the car’s association with the Chief Minister’s convoy, leaving a puzzle yet to be pieced together in this unfolding narrative.
