Security Forces Conduct Search Operations in Fringe Areas of Manipur; Significant Cache of Arms and Ammunition Recovered
Desk Report, April 05, 2024: In a recent series of search operations and area domination exercises conducted by security forces in the vulnerable fringe areas of hill and valley districts of Manipur, a substantial cache of arms and ammunition was seized.
The operations, aimed at maintaining law and order and ensuring the safety of the residents, led to the recovery of the following items:
– One Carbine
– One MK-2 Stand with one magazine
– One Anti-Riot Gun
– One locally-made .303 Rifle
– One country-made 9mm gun with one empty magazine
– Six Tear Gas Smoke shells
– Three Grenade Tube launchers
– Thirteen Hand grenades
– One Chinese Hand grenade
– Fourteen live ammunition rounds
– Five grenade launching rings
– One BP jacket
These items were recovered from the foothills south of Sadu Nepali Basti in Bishnupur District, Manipur.
The successful operations underscore the commitment of the security forces to curb illegal arms trafficking and maintain peace and stability in the region. Further investigations are underway to ascertain the source and intended use of the recovered weapons and ammunition.
