Major Drug Seizure in Rangiya: STF Strikes Blow Against Trafficking Operations
Rangia, April 08, 2024: In a significant blow to drug trafficking operations in the region, the Special Task Force (STF) executed a successful overnight mission in Rangia, resulting in the seizure of deadly narcotics with an estimated value of Rs 2.5 crore.
Led by Additional Superintendent of Police, Kalyan Kumar Pathak, the STF conducted a targeted operation that led to the confiscation of approximately 10,000 Yaba tablets, a potent and highly addictive substance. The raid, shrouded in darkness, exposed the insidious presence of illicit drugs within the community.
The seized tablets were discovered concealed within the dashboard of a Maruti Alto vehicle with West Bengal registration number WB 86 D 7907. Investigations revealed that the contraband originated from Manipur, highlighting the extensive reach of the drug trade.
Two individuals from Behar, identified as Rashidul Mia and Nayan Mia, were apprehended in possession of the Yaba tablets. They reportedly obtained the narcotics from Imran Hussain, a resident of Rangia. Further investigation unveiled an intricate network facilitating the transportation of narcotics from Rangia to Behar. The arrested individuals had ingeniously concealed the illicit substances within the vehicle’s dashboard, successfully evading detection during transit.
Currently, three individuals are in custody as a result of the STF operation: Rashidul Mia and Nayan Mia from Behar, and Imran Hussain from Rangia. Their apprehension marks a significant milestone in the ongoing battle against drug trafficking in the region.
The seized Yaba tablets, known for their potency and detrimental effects, underscore the severity of the drug epidemic plaguing communities. The successful intervention by law enforcement authorities serves as a testament to their unwavering commitment to combatting the scourge of narcotics.
