STF’s Swift Raid Nets Suspected Heroin and Arrests Three in Khanapara Bust

Illicit Drug Trade Disrupted: STF’s Meticulous Khanapara Operation Makes Significant Seizure

Guwahati, April 11, 2024: In a swift and coordinated operation on April 10, a team of Special Task Force (STF) under the leadership of Inspector Kapil Pathak conducted a raid at Khanapara, within the jurisdiction of Basistha Police Station. Acting on credible intelligence, the STF successfully apprehended three individuals and seized a significant quantity of contraband substances.

The operation resulted in the capture of three suspects identified as Sunita Basumatary, Md. Sanydul Ali, and Md. Sukur Ali. Alongside the arrests, STF officials seized 55 vials containing a total of 74.5 grams of suspected heroin, along with 7 Nitrazepam I.P. 10mg tablets. Additionally, empty vials and a sum of cash were seized from the scene.

The individuals apprehended in this operation are now facing charges under the Narcotic Drug and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act. This decisive action by the STF underscores the commitment of law enforcement agencies to combat the illicit drug trade and uphold the rule of law.
