Major Narcotics Bust by Karimganj Police Leads to Seizure of 100,000 YABA Tablets

Desk Report, April 13, 2024: In a significant operation targeting the narcotics trade, Karimganj Police intercepted a vehicle in Srikrishna Nagar within Karimganj district, acting on specific intelligence. The vehicle was found to be carrying a substantial quantity of illegal substances concealed within its secret compartments.

A staggering haul of 100,000 YABA tablets was seized from the vehicle, marking a major blow to the narcotics network operating in the region. The operation resulted in the apprehension of two individuals, including a significant supplier and carrier implicated in the illicit trade.

The intercepted vehicle was traced to its origins in a neighboring state, highlighting the trans-border nature of the illicit drug trafficking networks.

Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma took to his social media platform to commend the commendable efforts of the Karimganj Police in executing the operation. His acknowledgment underscores the state’s commitment to combating the menace of drug trafficking and ensuring public safety.
