STF Nabs Drug Peddler in Guwahati Bust: Heroin Seized
Guwahati, April 18, 2024: The Special Task Force (STF) of the Assam Police successfully apprehended a drug peddler on Thursday, in a significant operation conducted in Guwahati’s Khanapara locality. Acting on credible intelligence, the STF launched a raid near the Khanapara Bus Stand earlier today, resulting in the capture of a known habitual offender in the illicit drug trade.
During the meticulously executed operation, STF officials seized 29 vials suspected to contain heroin, with a total weight of 41 grams. Additionally, two mobile phones and a sum of Rs. 760 in cash were seized from the possession of the arrested individual. The apprehended suspect has been identified as Md. Najim Uddin, hailing from Boko in the Kamrup district of Assam.
Md. Najim Uddin has been promptly charged under the provisions of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act, 1985, reflecting the gravity of his alleged offenses. This decisive action by the STF underscores the steadfast commitment of law enforcement agencies to combat the scourge of drug trafficking and its detrimental impact on society.
