STF Conducts Raids, Seizes Suspected Heroin in Panbazar and Khanapara
Guwahati, May 05, 2024: In a swift operation based on insider information, the Special Task Force (STF) on May 04, under the leadership of Inspector Kapil Pathak, conducted a raid on May 4th at 2 No. Railway Gate, within the jurisdiction of Panbazar Police Station. During the operation, authorities apprehended an individual in possession of 30 vials, containing approximately 42 grams of suspected heroin, alongside other related paraphernalia.
This raid was preceded by another significant operation earlier in the day, where the same STF team targeted Garam Bazar in Khanapara, under the purview of Dispur Police Station. In this operation, the team successfully apprehended two individuals, seizing a cache of 68 vials containing an estimated 87.5 grams of suspected heroin. Additionally, mobile handsets and a sum of cash were also confiscated during the raid.
Authorities have initiated further investigations into the matter, aiming to uncover any potential links to wider drug networks operating in the region. The STF remains vigilant in its pursuit of justice, and citizens are urged to cooperate with law enforcement agencies by providing any relevant information that may aid in combating drug-related crimes.
