Assam’s Lok Sabha Election Phase Three: Moderate Turnout Recorded in Four Constituencies
Desk Report, May 07, 2024: As the third phase of polling unfolded today in Assam, voter enthusiasm was palpable across the four Lok Sabha constituencies, with an overall turnout of 45.88 per cent recorded until 1 pm, according to officials.
Dhubri emerged as a frontrunner in voter turnout, registering a commendable 47.73 per cent participation rate, closely trailed by Barpeta at 46.83 per cent. Kokrajhar and Guwahati followed suit with 46.43 per cent and 42.13 per cent, respectively.
The polling process commenced at 7 am and is scheduled to continue until 5 pm, providing ample opportunity for citizens to exercise their democratic rights.
These figures underscore the active engagement of voters in shaping the democratic landscape during this pivotal phase of the elections. The substantial turnout reflects the electorate’s commitment to contributing to the democratic process and shaping the future of Assam through their votes.
