The Witcher Season 4: A Fresh Face and New Adventures Await

In a dramatic shift, Australian actor Liam Hemsworth has stepped into the rugged boots of Geralt of Rivia, following Henry Cavill’s departure from the beloved role in 2022. The fanbase remains divided over this transition, but the first look at Hemsworth as the iconic monster hunter promises to spark excitement and curiosity.
Netflix teased fans with a tantalizing short video, giving a glimpse of Hemsworth in character. Accompanied by the caption, “The journey continues. Here’s your first look at Liam Hemsworth as Geralt of Rivia,” the clip sent ripples through the Witcher community. Series showrunner Lauren S. Hissrich shared her enthusiasm with Entertainment Weekly, saying, “
His look has been in development for over a year, so it’s thrilling to finally share an official sneak peek of Liam Hemsworth as Geralt of Rivia. Cast and crew alike have been struck by the passion, energy, and embodiment Liam has brought to the character from Day 1 – scruffy beard, iconic scar, and all. The upcoming season promises more than just a new face for Geralt. Returning cast members include Freya Allan as Princess Cirilla, Anya Chalotra as Yennefer, and Joey Batey as the ever-entertaining minstrel Jaskier. Season 3, split into two parts and released in June and July 2023, set the stage for these beloved characters’ continuing adventures.
New faces will also join the fray in Season 4, with Laurence Fishburne portraying fan-favorite character Regis, Sharlto Copley taking on the role of Leo Bonhart, James Purefoy as Skellen, and Danny Woodburn as Zoltan. As the series, adapted from Andrzej Sapkowski’s rich literary world, marches towards its grand conclusion in the fifth season, fans can expect a whirlwind of magic, mayhem, and monster-slaying.
