Karimganj Police Seize Drugs Worth Rs 40 Lakh, Arrest Two Individuals
Silchar, May 25, 2024: In a significant anti-narcotics operation, the Karimganj police seized drugs valued at approximately Rs 40 lakh, following a tip-off received by Superintendent of Police Partha Pratim Das. The successful raid, conducted in the Sapnargool area under the jurisdiction of Karimganj police station, led to the arrest of two individuals.
The operation, executed with precision, resulted in the recovery of 123 grams of suspected heroin concealed in 10 soap boxes. The apprehended individuals, identified as Farid Uddin and Suman Pal, are both residents of Karimganj.
Superintendent Das commended the police force for their swift action and reaffirmed the department’s commitment to combating drug trafficking in the region. The arrested traffickers are currently in custody, and further investigations are underway to trace the broader network involved in this illegal activity.
