Manipur Police Crack Down on Illicit Activities: Seize Weapons Cache and Narcotics Worth Crores
Desk Report, June 01, 2024: In a concerted effort to maintain law and order, the Manipur Police recently conducted search operations and area domination exercises in Khengjang Village, Kangpokpi District, uncovering a cache of illicit items.
During the meticulous search operations, law enforcement authorities recovered a significant arsenal including one 7.62mm SLR with two magazines, one 12-inch SBBL Gun, and a Baofeng Radio Set. Additionally, ten live round ammunitions were seized, indicative of potential illicit activities in the region.
Furthermore, in a separate operation, the Manipur Police apprehended an individual identified as Mr. Ginlunlen, also known as William, aged 22, at Sangaikot junction, Churachandpur District. The arrest led to the seizure of 60 soap cases suspected to contain Brown Sugar, with a total weight of 2.3 kilograms, including the weight of the containers. The estimated value of the seized contraband runs into crores, underscoring the magnitude of the operation and the potential impact on curbing illegal drug trade in the area.
