National Commission for Protection of Child Rights (NCPCR) to Hold Grievance Redressal Camp in Dhubri
Dhubri, June 02, 2024: The National Commission for Protection of Child Rights (NCPCR) will conduct a Grievance Redressal Camp on June 14, 2024. The event will take place at Dhubri Government Boys H.S. School. Registration will start at 9:00 AM, and the Bench will begin at 10:00 AM.
Children from all backgrounds, including street children, students, and residents of child care institutions, are encouraged to attend. They can voice complaints and concerns about any child rights violations. This includes issues related to child labor, both in hazardous occupations and domestic settings. Complaints about non-payment of dues, repatriation of rescued child labor, and children selling products on the streets will also be addressed.
The camp will cover a broad range of issues. These include acid attacks, street begging, forced begging, physical abuse, and neglect. Cases of domestic violence, discrimination based on HIV status, and police brutality can be reported as well. Furthermore, concerns about abuse in child care institutions, illegal adoptions, and violence against children will be taken seriously.
Other areas of focus include deaths due to negligence, kidnappings, missing children, and suicides. Violations of child rights in electronic, social, and print media will be addressed. Additionally, issues like the absence of neighborhood schools, poor infrastructure, capitation fees, and corporal punishment in schools will be reviewed.
Complaints related to school admission denial, discrimination, and disability issues can also be filed. The camp will look into the use of non-NCERT or non-SCERT books, improper curriculum procedures, and misuse of school premises. Problems arising from school closures and building takeovers will be addressed too.
The NCPCR will also handle cases of sexual abuse, compensation, medical negligence, and delayed treatment. Issues related to disease, malnutrition, mid-day meals, and substance abuse will be taken up. Rehabilitation for all childhood developmental disorders will be a priority.
This Grievance Redressal Camp is a crucial opportunity for children to have their voices heard. It aims to ensure the protection and enforcement of child rights across various sectors.
