Chandmari Police Station Cracks Major Theft Case, Arrests Two Suspects
Guwahati, June 8, 2024: In a significant breakthrough, a team from Chandmari Police Station has successfully cracked a major theft case involving a truck carrying 100 cartons of Rajanigandha Pan Masala valued at ₹50 lakhs. The truck was reported stolen, sparking an intensive investigation.
The operation led to the arrest of two suspects. Md Monirul Islam was apprehended in Chirang, while Arun Roy, identified as the mastermind behind the theft, was arrested at 14 Mile, Byrnihat.
Further investigation and probing efforts resulted in the recovery of 79 cartons of the stolen Pan Masala, valued at ₹40 lakhs, from Mothgoria, Narengi. The police have initiated legal action against the suspects and are continuing their efforts to recover the remaining cartons.
The Chandmari Police’s swift action and effective investigation techniques have been commended for their role in solving this high-value theft case.
