Arrest Made in Guwahati for Possession of Suspected Heroin
Guwahati, June 9, 2024: In a coordinated effort earlier today, the Special Operations Group of the City Police’s Crime and General Provisions Division (SOG CGPD) and a team from the Paltan Bazaar Police Station successfully apprehended Ajibar Rahman of Chaygaon. The arrest took place at Gandhi Mandap Tiniali, Guwahati, where Rahman was caught red-handed in possession of 21.50 grams of suspected heroin.
The operation also resulted in the seizure of a scooty bearing the registration number AS 01 DN 8442. The suspect is currently in custody, and an investigation is underway to determine the extent of his involvement in drug trafficking activities.
This arrest highlights the ongoing efforts by law enforcement agencies in Guwahati to combat the illegal drug trade and ensure the safety and security of the community. Further details will be released as the investigation progresses.
